Recipe: The Golden Hour Spritz

Pair It With

  • Burrata with tomatoes and basil

  • Prosciutto and melon

  • Marinated olives

  • Parmesan crisps

  • A sunset and absolutely no plans.

There are few things that say European summer quite like a spritz enjoyed on a warm afternoon. Whether you're sitting at a café in Italy, overlooking the sea, or simply recreating the feeling at home, this cocktail is crisp, refreshing, and effortlessly elegant.

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Aperol

  • 3 oz Prosecco

  • 1 oz sparkling blood orange soda (or club soda for a lighter version)

  • Plenty of ice

  • Fresh rosemary sprig

  • Fresh mint

  • Orange peel

  • Dehydrated blood orange wheel (optional, but beautiful)

How to Make It

  1. Fill a large wine glass generously with ice.

  2. Pour in the Aperol followed by the Prosecco.

  3. Top with the sparkling blood orange soda.

  4. Gently stir once or twice.

  5. Garnish with the rosemary, mint, orange peel, and a dehydrated citrus wheel.

My Tip

The garnish is what makes this cocktail feel special. Don't skip the fresh herbs, they add an incredible aroma with every sip and instantly make it feel like something you'd order at a boutique hotel on the Amalfi Coast.
