5 winter styles to wear this year.

Hello Winter! Here, In California we are just starting to get the first few rainy and stormy weeks. I know we are late to the game in this state but that’s okay.

Over the next 2 months, I’m going to try to wear as many of these lovely outfits as I can. Whether you are a city or country person you can still incorporate bits and pieces of these into your daily style.

#1

Scarves. Oh yes, let's bundle up as much as we can. I personally LOVE scarves and if I could wear them all year I would. From a style point of view, what I like most is you can change up a very basic outfit just with a scarf. If you run on the minimalist side go for darker solid knits. Maybe you love some color, try a big soft colorful one. The options are endless and that's what makes them the best winter piece for your closet.

#2

Long Peacoats, many people don't have long coats anymore and I think that's something we need to bring back. Not only do they look beyond beautiful but they do keep you warmer. Wool can be the best for cold and rainy days. My coats have a special place in my heart and every winter I am so excited to take them out of the closet.

#3

The Knit dresses. We are starting to see a comeback of knits in the form of pants, skirts, and best of all dresses. Lydia Millen has sported the Cashmere dress perfectly in the past few months and I think it's a style trend we should take seriously. Sweater dresses can be hit or miss but there are a lot of options out there and If you pair with some warm tights and a coat you can be very toasty.

#4

The Cardigan, okay yes, we've been seeing this one pop up left and right. But, it might be a trend that can be adapted for a more elegant style. This countryside outfit has proven this. Worn with a blouse or the right jacket, you can add a lot to this look.

#5

A bit of sparkle. Who said sparkles were only for the holidays? I mean, why not wear them through the entire winter season? If you are planning a party, a date night out, or an event sparkles do have their place. I think there are some low-key ways to wear them if you don't want to have a showstopper of an outfit. This green dress is a good example pop and color while still keeping it acceptable.
